Antifreeze and Your Radiator Warranty

Our all-metal radiators, the solder-on tank and bolt-on tank models, are built with copper and brass cores joined with solder. They are made to run on conventional green or yellow antifreeze.

Use only green or yellow antifreeze. Red antifreeze, and any extended-life (OAT) coolant with the same chemistry, usually sold as red, orange or pink, attacks the solder over time and can cause leaks and early failure. Running one of these coolants in an all-metal radiator voids its warranty. Our full warranty terms are in section 8 of our Terms and Conditions of Sale.

Check the label as well as the color. A coolant marked extended-life, OAT or organic acid technology is the wrong kind, whatever color it is dyed. When switching away from one, flush the cooling system completely so none is left circulating.
